Sun Publications hosts magazine launch party

Sun Publications invites its readers to say aloha to an evening of fun at the Aloft Leawood Hotel.

Sun Publications and the Aloft Leawood Hotel will host the Aloft Leawood Magazine Summer Launch Party from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 28 in the hotel’s W xyz bar and re:mix lounge, 11620 Ash St., Leawood.

The event will feature food by California Pizza Kitchen, half-price wine and various prizes, including tickets to Starlight Theatre.

Lynne Fleenor, Aloft Leawood Hotel director of sales and marketing, said Aloft has become a summer hot spot in Johnson County.

“It’s not a traditional hotel bar and it’s not a regular standalone bar,” Fleenor said. “It’s just so much different than anywhere else you can go.”

Aloft opened as Leawood’s first hotel last year. Sun Publications partnered with Aloft to produce a quarterly magazine for hotel guests. The magazine features area trends and attractions.

“We are thrilled with our partnership with the Aloft. We are proud to be the publisher of the Aloft Magazine, and we will continue to do everything we can to promote this great hotel,” Sun Publications Publisher David Small said.

The Aloft Leawood Magazine Summer Launch party will give community members an opportunity to check out the hotel and the publication.

Fleenor encourages community members to come to the party to “take advantage of Leawood’s premier patio space.”

The magazine launch party is one of several social events Sun Publications has hosted this summer.

Small encourages readers to check out the fun.

“We are so excited to host a fun, summer party at the Aloft Hotel for our readers. The Aloft is a hip, exciting destination, and our readers will have a blast enjoying free appetizers and mingling. This is a free event, and just like our parties at BRGR and the Cashew, everyone who attends will have an awesome time,” Small said.
