St. John’s names new director

St. John Hospital, Leavenworth, Kan., named Cathy Menninga, RN, BSN, MBA, as director of inpatient and outpatient services.

Menninga has more than 25 years of nursing and nursing management experience. She most recently worked as director of emergency services at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Mo. She served as nurse manager of North Kansas City Hospital’s emergency services in North Kansas City, Mo., for more than 15 years.

Menninga’s new responsibilities will include overall management of the hospital’s inpatient and outpatient services, including the intensive care unit, medical/surgical unit and emergency services department. She has a background in intensive care, cardiac rehabilitation and telemetry units.

Menninga earned her master’s degree in management and business from Baker University, her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the College of St. Francis, and her associate’s degree as a registered nurse from Penn Valley Community College. She also has certifications as a trauma nurse and pediatric emergency nurse. She was selected Emergency Nurse Manager of the Year in Missouri for 2006.

“My commitment to quality patient care is consistent with St. John’s,” Menninga said. “I look forward to working with the outstanding staff here to contribute to the outstanding care the hospital provides the Leavenworth community.”
