Centerpoint Medical Center gets cardiology accreditation

Two of Centerpoint Medical Center’s cardiology services recently received national accreditation or certification.

The hospital’s Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Department received certification from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The association examined the program’s content, administration and outcome data.

Centerpoint’s Echocardiography Laboratory also received commendations. Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories gave the laboratory accreditation in the following treatment modalities: adult stress echocardiography, adult transesophageal echocardiography and adult transthoracic echocardiography.

The accreditation indicates the laboratory’s commitment to quality testing for heart disease.
