Heart Association selects leader

The American Heart Association named William Lawrence Jr., MD, FACC, FACP, as president of the association’s Midwest affiliate board of directors.

Lawrence serves as an interventional cardiologist with Kansas City Cardiology Associates and director of congestive heart failure and cardiac rehabilitation for Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.

As president, Lawrence will serve as the affiliate’s lead volunteer scientific and medical officer and will be responsible for medical, scientific and public health matters.
