On The Record

Providence Medical Center was recently awarded several UnitedHealth Premium Specialty Center three-star designations in the areas of cardiac services, interventional cardiology, cardiac surgery and electrophysiology.

The designations were developed to recognize healthcare facilities that meet or exceed certain guidelines related to the quality and cost of the facility.

“Being selected as a three-star cardiac program in interventional cardiology, cardiac surgery and electrophysiology sets Providence apart from many of the other providers in the Kansas City area,” said Michele Faris-Rowe, director of the hospital’s Cardiology Services. “We offer our patients a comprehensive cardiac program, including inpatient cardiac care, cardiac rehabilitation, cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery. Our team of experienced medical professionals uses the latest technology to provide highly individualized care from diagnosis to treatment to rehabilitation.”

The Cardiology Services program was also awarded the 2008 ACTION registry – Get With the Guidelines Silver Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association.
