St. John chooses winner

St. John Hospital, Leavenworth, Kan., selected Sarah Giosio, CNA, as 2009 Employee of the Year.

Giosio has worked in the hospital’s Med/Surg unit for the past four years. She has been with the facility for 13 years. She takes vital signs, bathes patients and cleans patient rooms.

“Sarah is a tremendous asset to St. John Hospital,” said Sarah Lee, RN, BSN, clinical supervisor for Inpatient/Outpatient Services. “She takes care of each patient as if they were part of her own family. She is a great example and lives out our mission every day through the care she provides.”

Giosio said she enjoys her work at St. John.

“St. John is a wonderful place to work,” Giosio said. “Our staff on the Med/Surg unit does a great job. We have a very busy unit with a wide variety of patients. Our work is always interesting and we have a terrific team. I appreciate each and every one.”
