Menorah Medical Center provided free heart health screenings and on-the-spot results May 2 during the facility's annual Women's Heart Health Fair. The screenings included complete testing for cholesterol and triglyceride, blood pressure, blood glucose levels, body mass index, bone density testing, waist circumference and review of family health history. The on-site results also included an overall risk assessment and counseling with a licensed professional. The event also provided cooking demonstrations, more than 10 health educational booths, breast cancer, diabetes and smoking risk assessments plus a heart-healthy educational seminar that featured cardiologist Elizabeth Dang, MD. "The time to address heart disease is now," Dang said. "When it comes to heart disease, prevention and education can save lives. This is vitally important as we all are at risk for this disease, especially women."
